Everything was happiness at the beginning of September when Miriam Ungria gave the “yes, I do” to the Jordanian prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, first cousin of King Abdullah of Jordan. The widow of Prince Kardam of Bulgaria mourns just two months after the death of her father, Bernardo Ungriaat 98 years old.
Bernardo, who founded the company Patentes y Marcas in 1891, died in Madrid on October 27. On November 17 at 7:00 p.m., his family celebrates the funeral in the parish of San Agustín, in the wealthy neighborhood of El Viso.

Miriam, Javier Ungría’s aunt, will attend this mass celebrated in honor of her father, probably in the company of her new husband. The wedding took place in September, seven years after the death of Kardam from Bulgaria, who did not overcome the serious consequences of the traffic accident he suffered in 2008. She married her first husband in the Orthodox rite, the religion of the deceased, and her life has now changed radically by becoming the wife of a Muslim prince.

Kardam’s memories of Bulgaria will always be there, but she has overcome adversity. “I don’t consider myself an example of anything. I think I am privileged. I think I have experienced very special moments. Obviously I wish nothing had happened, but it has been a journey that makes you live and mature,” he explained years ago.
