The Newcastle considers a ‘raid’ of signings in Italy

Newcastle United need to react. After the first third of the competition, a change of ownership and a change of coach, the North of England team is nineteenth in the table and fights for permanence with a certain disadvantage.

The magpies still do not know the victory in the Premier League and march four points behind Watford, which marks the salvation with ten points. The arrival of the Saudi owners has positioned the club as a possible new economic powerhouse and they want this to translate directly into transfers to save the category as the first step in building a great project.

The northern team is looking for differential signings and, according to The Times, Italy seems to be a market that attracts a lot in Newcastle Upon Tyne. This medium ensures that the club is interested in making three direct additions from Serie A: De Vrij and Brozovic from Inter and Strakosha from Lazio. An operation that this newspaper describes as a “raid” on Series A.

The signing of the Dutch central would be a declaration of intent. Valued at 50 million euros, the defender is a fixture in Inzaghi’s schemes, being a starter in all Champions League matches and in everything we have in Serie A safe against Udinese.

Same situation with Brozovic. The midfielder is also counting a lot for Inter playing 16 matches between the two competitions in which he has scored a goal and provided assists. This is valued at 40 million euros.

The situation of the Albanian is different. Pepe Reina is the owner of the position in Lazio and he only plays the Europa League matches. In four games he has left a clean sheet twice and has received three goals. The goal, with only 26 years old, could consider a move to another team that would ensure more minutes. Newcastle’s goal could be an option.
