The new SuperChelsea scares

The arrival of Kai Havertz, one of the most sought-after talents in Europe – and who the pandemic surely left without his dream of playing for Real Madrid – makes Chelsea the most exciting team at the top of the Premier League. Havertz was officially announced yesterday and the figures that are valued for his transfer are between 80 and 100 million euros, depending on the objectives he achieves in his new club. It is the jewel in the crown, the talent that they trust Lampard to bring out the brightest. A technician who may have some very suggestive new names – such as Ziyech, Werner, Chilwell or Thiago Silva – but also others who will have to face their confirmation season – such as Mount, Abraham or Hudson-Odoi.

Havertz, at 21, left the German national team concentration in Stuttgart yesterday morning to undergo the medical examination in London, and, at around 9:00 p.m., he appeared on the London club's website. “I am very happy and proud to be here. For me it is a dream come true to play for a great club like Chelsea and I can't wait to meet the players and coaches“, already commented as a player blue.

His performance in recent times was also outstanding, and that is that he managed to score seven goals in the nine games after the resumption of the pandemic in the Premier. Despite the fact that his greatest virtue is not that of a scorer, last season with Bayer Leverkusen he scored 18 goals in 45 games.

In the bedroom, Chelsea, which has spent around 200 million euros counting on the Havertz operation, still has to hire a goalkeeper who can compete with Kepa, with whom they are not entirely satisfied. The chosen one seems to be Edouard Mendy, a 28-year-old Rennes goalkeeper for whom the French team is asking for about 35 million euros.
