The Nationale-Nederlanden San Silvestre Vallecana donates 15,012 euros to the Unoentrecienmil Foundation

MADRID, 27 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Nationale-Nederlanden San Silvestre Vallecana has donated the 15,012 euros raised from the sale of bib numbers for the 2022 edition to the Fundación Unoentrecienmil, which will contribute to the launch of ‘La Acceleradora Unoentrecienmil’, the first non-pharmacological therapy unit, at the University Hospital of La Paz.

As indicated by the race, the delivery of the check was made this Monday at the La Paz University Hospital, where ‘La Acceleradora’ has been installed, a project of the Unoentrecienmil Foundation to which the full amount collected will go.

This is a new service offered by this non-profit entity for pediatric cancer patients, which is added to their conventional treatments as a complementary therapy and which will be prescribed by the hospital’s oncologists.

The project has a Physical Exercise Research Unit which, for the moment, has only been set up in the Madrid hospital, making it the first to incorporate exercise as part of therapy in order to improve the quality of life of the most small during and after treatment.

In addition, it has a digital platform in the form of a ‘Webapp’ that will help therapists guide the sessions of childhood cancer patients and collect key data for scientific research.

“We are very happy that ‘La Aceleradora’, a Unoentreciemil project with which we have been collaborating for two years, is the beneficiary of this solidarity check. From Nationale-Nederlanden we want to thank all the people participating in the race who, with Your donations have contributed positively to the recovery and quality of life of children suffering from this disease,” said Marije Scholma, Deputy General Manager and Director of Employee Experience at Nationale-Nederlanden.

For his part, José Carnero, president of the Unoentrecienmil Foundation, thanked Nationale-Nederlanden for its commitment to this project that will help improve the lives and accelerate the healing of hundreds of children through the practice of sport without leaving their hospital and supported by a specialized therapist. “We are delighted that you will be a part of our movement for a complete cure for childhood leukemia,” he said.
