The most ‘rogue’ and shameless penalty that divides Croatian football

Mundo Deportivo offers you a compilation of the most viewed videos this 2020. The most ‘rogue’ and shameless penalty that divides Croatian football, is the first of a delivery of ten. A selection of iconic images.

The Croatian league witnessed one of the most controversial penalties in recent times. Tomislav Mrkonjic, a footballer for NK Croatia, was in charge of executing a maximum penalty against Cibalia goalkeeper Karlo Slukic. The controversy was born as a result of the preparations that the Croatian footballer made with the ball and its subsequent launch. While the referee ordered the players not to enter the area, Mrkonjic fiddled with the ball, tied his shoes, put on his socks … and just when the referee blew the whistle, and while he was confused, he fired ipso facto without lead to the goalkeeper's reaction. An action that is provoking debate in Croatian football for being considered an action that borders on illegality due to its lack of ‘fair play’. And you, would you shoot a penalty in this way?
