The Montjuïc-Tibidabo Race brings together 499 runners in a hybrid route

The Montjuïc-Tibidabo Race in Barcelona brought together 499 runners this Wednesday in its second edition, the maximum allowed by regulations as part of the route is in the Collserola Natural Park, a race that crosses the city between the mountains of Montjuïc and Tibidabo, with a 20 km route and more than 400 meters of positive slope, according to a statement.

The 20 kilometer route, varied in its second edition to adapt to the regulations of the Collserola Natural Park – it only allows 499 participants – has been hybrid, passing through both asphalt and land.

In the men’s category, the event ended with the simultaneous victory of runners from the same club Marc Guàrdia and Llorenç Esteve with a time of 1:09:03, and in the women’s category, the winner was Cristina García, who recorded a time of 1 :24:48.

The event, previously known as Cursa de l’Amistat, began with the descent of Montjuïc mountain, along wide streets, to enter Barcelona, ​​crossing the city on a direct route, with few curves and low gradients.

Afterwards, the runners crossed the neighborhoods of Poble-Sec, Sant Antoni, the Old Left of the Eixample, Les Corts and Sarrià, to leave the city behind and go up a stretch of road, passing through Vallvidrera and ascending to Tibidabo. Finally, they went down again to Vallvidrera and took some paths to the Santa María de Vallvidrera Leisure Area, where they found the finish line.
