The ‘martial law’ ends with the league in Ukraine

No games have been played since Russia invaded Ukraine in February in what Moscow calls a “special military operation.”

“Ukrainian Premier League football clubs supported the proposal to end the 2021-22 season…as the championship cannot be completed due to the extension of the state of martial law in Ukraine,” the UPL said in a statement on Tuesday. Tuesday.

“The ranking as of February 24, 2022 will be the final ranking of the 2021-22 season, with no winners being awarded. The corresponding decision was submitted for approval by the executive committee of the Ukrainian Football Association.”

The top two teams qualify for the Champions League.
