The marcher Laura García-Caro, drops out for the European due to coronavirus

The Spanish athlete Laura García-Caro will not be able to be at the European Athletics Championships in Munich (Germany), which takes place from August 15 to 21, after testing positive for coronavirus on her return from the World Cup in Eugene (United States).

“Laura García-Caro, drops out of Spain Athletics in Munich. Upon returning from Oregon, she tested positive for COVID and has not been able to recover in time to train and compete in optimal conditions,” explained the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation (RFEA).

The walker, who was sixth in the World Cup event in Eugene and beat her personal best in the 35-kilometer walk test, will not be able to participate in the 20-kilometer European test for which she was selected.
