The Madrid Spain Masters runs out of Spaniards for the quarterfinals

MADRID, 28 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Madrid Spain Masters by Iberdrola badminton held an intense day of round of 16 this Thursday at the Gallur Municipal Sports Center, where the three Spanish couples remaining in the running said goodbye.

The defeats of the women’s doubles of Lucía Rodríguez and Paula López and the mixed doubles of Jacobo Fernández – Paula López and Rubén García – Lucía Rodríguez, left the event being held in Madrid without national representation.

The excitement was guaranteed from the first match of the round of 16, with the mixed doubles of Rubén García and Lucía Rodríguez, who lost to the Taiwanese Chen and Hsu by a tight 21-15, 17-21 and 14-21.

Without so much emotion, she ended up losing the other Spanish mixed doubles, that of Jacobo Fernández and Paula López against the French Gicquel and Delrue (9-21 and 15-21), and the women’s doubles of Paula López and Lucía Rodríguez against the Stoeva sisters (15 -21 and 12-21).
