The Longines Challenge Cup travels to the Netherlands

The Dutchman Harrie Smolders won the Queen’s Cup

MADRID, 1 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Netherlands team has won the Longines Challenge Cup this Saturday night on the Olympic track of the Real Club de Polo de Barcelona.

The CSIO Barcelona event, which brought together the seven nations that did not qualify for Sunday’s grand final, was decided in a tiebreaker, after the Netherlands and Australia finished tied on four points.

The Dutch Willem Greve, with Highway Tn, completed the jump-off without penalty, while the Australian Christopher Burton, riding Chedington Hazy Toulana, added four points and allowed the Dutch victory.

The podium was completed by Mexico, while the Spanish team was fifth. The grand final of the Longines Nations Cup will be held this Sunday. Prior to the Longines Challenge Cup this Saturday, the Queen’s Cup – Segura Viudas Trophy was held, where the also Dutchman Harrie Smolders won, with Deesse de Kerglenn.
