The last television appearance of Mari Carmen and her dolls: she revealed to Jorge Javier her anecdote with King Juan Carlos and showed her house in Tenerife

The last television interview given by María del Carmen Martínez-Villaseñor Barrasa, better known as ‘Mari Carmen and her dolls’, was two months ago, on April 14 at the Deluxe from Telecinco. The artist, who has died at the age of 80supposedly due to a fall at his home in Tenerife, spoke with Jorge Javier Vázquez in one of the last programs that the Catalan presented before taking the leave that keeps him away from the sets.

Mari Carmen appeared on the program a few days before her birthday to review her professional career – I have been working “64 years without any sabbaticals” – and recalled her golden age on television programs that brought together large audiences. “The television of before is no longer made,” acknowledged the comedian. “The millions that I have won,” Mari Carmen released, who had no problem admitting that she liked money. “I like pasta that you don’t see.” “Me too,” replied Jorge Javier.

Mari Carmen recounted some surprising anecdotes from her life, such as the conversations she had with the kings Juan Carlos and Sofía when they were at a reception. “Queen Sofía is a big fan of Doña Rogelia and King Juan Carlos once told me that he had to teach her to do that. [ventriloquía]”, he pointed out. Mari Carmen explained that the king joked with this interest in learning to put voices to use it in some “council of ministers” that he witnessed without the politicians making him a participant in the things they spoke. “And what can I say without move your mouth: ‘You are all assholes. And they would say, who said that,” she recalled on the show.

During the interview, in which he showed the house in Tenerife where he lived and where he supposedly died, he also recalled his adventures with Jimmy Giménez Arnau, with whom he “thrown yew” in the past. “He was very handsome. Now he is attractive. He is different, he has a very interesting life,” he admitted to the collaborator. “He is very graceful and very classy. We have not gone to the brown peaks or to do the gulf around there, but there was pull. He was very handsome and very interesting.”
