The Lakers will hang a flag for their only in-season tournament win. Any possible future wins will be added.

In honor of their championship this season in the first NBA In-Season Tournament, the Los Angeles Lakers will reveal a one-of-a-kind banner on Monday.

It will be a banner that stays up forever on December 18. If the brand wins more IST titles, more dates will be added.

To make it stand out, the Lakers’ new banner for their own arena is going to have a different shape and color from the other NBA title banners.

Los Angeles, which has won 17 NBA titles, wants to respect the moment but knows it’s not the same as other titles.

It would be another victory for the Lakers if they beat the Indianapolis Colts in the final round in the NBA In-Season Tournament on Saturday. The team has already won 17 league titles.

So, would the Lakers put up a banner that says “In-Season Tournament Champions” to go with the 17 wins they already have? Arash Markazi, a sports reporter who has lived in Los Angeles for a long time, says that the team wearing purple and gold “has no plans” to hang a flag to celebrate the in-season matchup.

“The Lakers are said to have no plans to change their mind about only hanging banners for NBA titles right now.”

Markazi wrote on social media, “They only hang banners for NBA titles. No Western Conference titles, Pacific Area titles, or (for now) possible NBA In-Season Tournament titles.”

However, until late Thursday night, the Los Angeles Lakers had not yet said what they planned to do to celebrate if they won the in-season tournament.

The Lakers and the Pacers will play in the playoff final on December 9 at 5:30 p.m. PT at an undisclosed location in Las Vegas.

Each player on the winning team on Saturday will get $500,000. The result of this game will not change either team’s win-loss record from the regular season, unlike the previous rounds of the tournament.

When it comes to flags, the Los Angeles Lakers usually have very strict rules. They hang them for a championship or more.

The Lakers don’t take away player names unless the person is in the Hall of Fame. Most teams would have a strict strategy like this, but remember that we’re talking about the Lakers.

There isn’t much room for more banners since there are already 17 title banners up. As it stands, they’d need 19 more banners over conference wins and 33 more for division titles, which means it makes sense to put some limits in place.

At first, it looked like the in-season event wouldn’t make the cut by this measure. Some news stories even said that the Lakers didn’t plan to put up an advertisement if they won the playoffs.

However, after beating the Pacers of Indiana on Saturday to win the NBA’s first title, the Lakers chose to hang a sign, which the team mentioned Monday.

The sign will be different from the ones that are now up showing the team’s 17 NBA titles. The Lakers won’t put up a different banner each time they win a tourney during the season.

Instead, they will hang one banner and add to it every time they win an event during the season. It will have a different color and style than the banners that are up in Los Angeles right now.

Aside from LeBron James, who was named tournament MVP, and Anthony Davis, who was named to the All-Tournament team, the Lakers will also honor them on December 18.
