The Jumbo-Visma team will be renamed Visma-Lease a Bike

The Jumbo-Visma cycling team will be renamed Visma-Lease a Bike, the Norwegian software provider confirmed this Friday, which will continue to be the official sponsor of the Dutch team, champion with three different cyclists of the three Grand Tours in 2023.

After five years as the second main sponsor, Visma will be the team’s title sponsor from the 2024 season. “We are delighted to announce that Visma is the new main sponsor of Jonas Vingegaard, Wout van Aert, Sepp Kuss, Marianne Vos, Fem van Empel and the other incredible athletes and staff, who have become the best cycling team the world has ever seen,” said Visma CEO Merete Hverven.

Lease a Bike is co-owned by Dutch family-owned multinational Pon and Volkswagen Financial Services, and joined the team as a sub-sponsor on January 1, 2023. “The sponsorship of the Visma-Lease a Bike team is aligned with our strategy of increasing the company’s footprint in Europe, both in current and potential markets. This global sponsorship not only allows us to champion the importance of values ​​​​such as teamwork and an active lifestyle, but also fosters a sense of pride internally and improves brand recognition,” added Hverven.

In addition to financial support, Visma will continue to provide the team with software to improve both athletic and business performance. “As a technology company, we are especially proud of how our AI solution has nearly doubled the team’s accuracy in predicting cyclists’ nutritional needs, helping them further boost their endurance,” he said.

For his part, the general director of Visma-Lease a Bike, Richard Plugge, was “delighted” to have the sponsorship of “two solid companies” with which they already have “an excellent relationship.” “This alliance is a great step forward, ensuring that we have the necessary resources to continue developing and improving as a team. Jumbo-Visma closed an unrepeatable 2023 in which it achieved the feat of winning the three Grand Tours with three different cyclists: the Danish Jonas Vingegaard (Tour de France), the Slovenian Primoz Roglic (Giro d’Italia) and the American Sepp Kuss ( The return to Spain).
