The Juan XXIII Foundation joins the Dis-Friendly Relay Madrid Marathon

MADRID, 22 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Juan XXIII Foundation will participate, together with nine other entities, in the second edition of the Dis-Friendly Relay Madrid Marathon, an inclusive relay race that will be held this Sunday as part of the Zurich Rock’n’Roll Running Series Madrid.

This Foundation, which has been working for the social and labor inclusion of people with psychosocial vulnerability for more than fifty-five years and which has a strong commitment to inclusive sport through its Leisure and Sports Club, pointed out that “this type of initiative They help us understand how sport is a lever for positive change to break the stereotypes that exist towards people with disabilities”.

The Club’s coordinator, José María Escudero, was “delighted” to participate in the event, this year with the runner Jacinto Gil. “This race claims inclusion in a different way, helps people with disabilities have more visibility and shows that the values ​​of sport, such as self-improvement, team spirit, effort and sacrifice, are shared by all people “, he pointed out.

Within the framework of the Dis-Friendly Relay Madrid Marathon, another series of actions is carried out in which both Fundación Juan XXIII and other entities also participate: training at the Vallehermoso Stadium on March 11, the Presentation Official with the participation of institutions, sponsors and entities the week before, and the next Runner’s Fair.

In the latter, which will take place at IFEMA on April 21 and 22 and within the Coca-Cola stand, the Foundation will hold the Empathy Workshop with the aim of raising awareness and empathizing with people who use wheelchairs. Also, the announcers of Radio XXIII will travel to the venue to tell first-hand everything that happens there. And those visitors who wish to learn more about the work carried out by the Foundation can do so through its space located in the area for social entities.
