The third edition of the ISDE Sports Convention (ISC 2022), the international congress organized by the Higher Institute of Law and Economics (ISDE) in collaboration with LaLiga and the Madrid City Council, will make Madrid the world capital of industry and law sporting events on May 20 at the Cecilio Rodríguez Gardens in the Spanish capital.
Aimed at senior representatives and managers of sports law companies, Marketing and Communication directors and, among others, students specializing in sports law, ISC 2022 will analyze the application of good governance in sports entities, sports betting legislation, the promotion of women’s sports, sustainability and, among other issues, the digitization process accelerated by the COVI-19 pandemic.
Organized in the hybrid mode, face-to-face and via streaming, the ISC 2022 is being held in a year in which the Beijing Winter Olympics have been held and in which Qatar will host the first World Cup in autumn, as well as Madrid the international epicenter with the celebration of the World Capital of Sport.
The ISC 2022 will complete the extensive calendar of events that will make Madrid the benchmark for international sport this year, along with others such as the recent Mutua Madrid Tennis Open, the Spanish Golf Open, the Madrid Marathon or, among others, the San Silvestre Vallecana.
FIRST LEVEL SPEAKERS: TEBAS, HIDALGO, ALBERT SOLER AND BLÁZQUEZ
The presidents of LaLiga, Javier Tebas; and from the Spanish Sports Association (ADESP), José Hidalgo; the General Director of Sports of the Higher Sports Council (CSD), Albert Soler; the vice president of the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE) and president of the Royal Spanish Handball Federation (RFEBM), Francisco Blázquez; and the sports director of the COE, Ricardo Leiva, are on the list of speakers.
The directors of the Marca newspapers, Juan Ignacio Gallardo; Ace, Vicente Jimenez; and Sport, Lluís Mascaró; the sports director of the Efe agency, Luis Villarejo, and the deputy director of Mundo Deportivo, Cristina Cubero, will analyze the challenge facing the press in its digital transformation process.
Likewise, the legal adviser of the Association of Spanish Soccer Players (AFE), María José López, and the experts José María Alonso (José María Alonso Abogados), Juan de Dios Crespo (RH&C), Lucas Ferrer (Pintó Ruiz&Del Valle) and William Sternheimer (Morgan Sports Law) of the main cases of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
PREMIOS ISC
Nearly 600 congressmen from more than 40 countries participated in the previous edition of the international legal and sports industry reference meeting, a sector that contributes 3.3 percent of GDP and more than 414,000 jobs to the Spanish economy, held in 2019 before the suspension of activity in 2020 due to the pandemic.
In addition, the ISC awards were given to the three-time world boxing champion, Joana Pastrana; the president of Real Valladolid, Ronaldo Nazario, and the Olympic champion in badminton at the Rio 2016 Games, Carolina Marín, who has just won her sixth European Championship in the Spanish capital. The winners of this 2022 edition will be announced next week.
