The ins and outs of the Coutinho operation

Philippe Coutinho leaves on loan to Aston Villa until the end of the season, as both clubs have made official this Friday. The English club will pay a part of the Brazilian’s token and reserves a purchase option. The program ‘Què T’hi Jugues’, of the ‘SER’, has reported that the amount of the salary that Aston Villa will pay is eight million, while the price that must be paid to stay with him in property rises up to 40 millions. In the same information, it is ensured that this amount is the same that Barcelona has agreed with Tottenham if they want to sign the Brazilian next summer. On the other hand, Coutinho’s agent will receive 800,000 euros, an amount that corresponds to 10% of the salary that Aston Villa will pay the player.

The departure of Coutinho allows Barcelona to meet the salary limit and to register Ferran Torres, although for both operations to be fully completed, the Brazilian must pass the medical examination and obtain a work permit. Once these two procedures are resolved, Coutinho will be in a position to make his debut with Aston Villa and Xavi will be able to use Ferran Torres when he sees fit.

Coach Steven Gerrard has been a key figure so that Coutinho has arrived at the English club, since he has even publicly shown his admiration for the Brazilian midfielder. “They call him the Wizard“, He said.
