The Infanta Elena has inaugurated this Friday the tenth edition of Ifema Madrid Horse, which will be held in halls 12 and 14 of the fairgrounds and will host, apart from the Horse Show, the best international horses and riders in the World Cups of jumping and dressage
The program has started with the Air Europa Trophy, a CSI 1, which has had the participation of the Infanta Doña Elena de Borbón, after several years attending the event, of which she is honorary president, exclusively as a visitor.
In addition, the Horse Show launched its program of exhibitions and demonstrations -of disciplines such as natural dressage, working equitation, riding the Amazon, western and working with cattle, among others- and recreational and educational activities, some of them focused directly to the little ones.
Tickets for Saturday have already sold out and there are several sessions that are about to sell out as well. On Sunday, vertigo will take over the Salón del Caballo with Horseball, a game that pits two teams of six players against each other who, carrying a ball with six leather handles, must score the highest number of goals in the opposing team’s vertical baskets.
Also, a show of vaulting by Volteo Star Madrid and a dressage carousel presented by Santana Doma Clásica. For its part, the central court will house the Ifema Madrid Trophy, the Jump&Drive and the Pony Turf.
THE BEST RIDERS AND AMAZONS IN THE WORLD
During these three days of competition, the best horses in the world will form pairings with the best riders and riders in the international ranking, from 25 countries, including the United States, Japan, France, Mexico and Switzerland.
The jumpers Daniel Deusser stand out, winner last week of the Prague Super Grand Prix, one of the most important events on the international calendar, who will be in Madrid with Bingo She Hermelle, the horse with which he won the Cannes Grand Prix this year, and Jasmien VD Bisschop, a mare who has also given him numerous international victories.
The German already knows what it is to win in Madrid, since in 2018 he won the Grand Prix Ciudad de Madrid scoring for the World Cup.
Also in the jumping category, one of the most illustrious international participants is the Frenchman Julien Epaillard. The French rider achieved victory in 2021 in the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup Gran Premio Ciudad de Madrid, a qualifying event for the World Cup.
Also present in Madrid will be the Austrian Max Kuhner, currently 17th in the Longines FEI Ranking, and ninth in the last Super GP; the Irishman Denis Lynch; and a rider who stayed at the gates of the podium of that Super GP in Prague, the Belgian Pieter Devos, among many top-level figures in international horse riding, such as the British Ben Maher, who was gold in Tokyo 2020.
In the Dressage category, the presence of the German Helen Langehanenberg stands out, silver at the London Olympics and who also won the FEI Dressage World Cup Grand Prix Freestyle-Eulen Group Trophy in 2021.
The participation in Dressage will have other illustrious pairings such as the one formed by José Antonio García Mena with Sorento 15, who was in the last Tokyo Olympic Games.

In addition to hosting two world cups simultaneously, something that only happens in three other European cities, Lyon, London and Leizpig, this tenth edition of Ifema Madrid Horse Week will also feature the ‘Maestros de la Vaquera’ Cup, with the presence of the winner of the first two editions, Jonatan Peña, accompanied by Temple, with whom he has just been proclaimed Champion of Champions at the Great Anglo-Arab Week in Seville.
Likewise, shows and demonstrations have been scheduled in the Salón del Caballo, such as the show on the Central Court on Saturday by the Córdoba Ecuestre riding school and its Pasión y Duende del Caballo Andaluz show.
Nor will the commercial area be missing in this anniversary edition, with more than 90 fashion stands, equestrian, veterinary, equine transport, catering, food and decoration stands, as well as a large gastronomic area.
