The Infanta Elena inaugurates the Madrid Horse Week under the watchful eye of Luis Alfonso de Borbón and Helen Svedin, among others

VIP’s conclave in the IFEMA space of the capital to start this Friday the Madrid Horse Week. Halls 12 and 14 will host the international equestrian competition, which is already celebrating its tenth edition, until next Sunday. The program began early in the morning with the Air Europa Trophy, in which it had the ‘royal’ participation of the infanta elena.

The eldest of the emeritus, passionate about this world, is honorary president of Ifema Madrid Horse Week, which she has always attended as a visitor. In 2021, her work was recognized with an award granted by the Board of Trustees of the MHW Foundation and the Organizing Committee, for “her career as a show jumping rider and her enormous contribution to the enhancement of our sport and the image of her in our country”.

Luis Alfonso de Bourbon, son of Alfonso de Borbón and Carmen Martínez Bordiú, has been one of the assistants to this first day. He has seen the infanta’s debut from a private box, just like the model Helen Swedinwife of Figo, and also the Amazon Astrid Klisanswife of Carlos Baute.

The Salón del Caballo has launched an exceptional program this Saturday, with exhibits (natural dressage, horse riding, riding the horsewoman, western, working with cattle…) and playful and educational activities, some focused on the smallest of the house. On Sunday the exciting Horseball (a game in which eight horsemen try to score with a leather ball and six handles in vertical baskets). You will also see a tumbling sample by Volteo Star Madrid and a dressage carousel presented by Santana Doma Clásica.
