The improved Armani Milano examines the irregularity of Valencia Basket

Those of Mumbrú, without Jones, want to close the year in the ‘playoffs’

MADRID, 28 Dic. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Valencia Basket visits Armani Milano this Thursday (8:30 p.m.) on matchday 16 of the Euroleague, with the ambition of closing 2022 with some stability and close to the ‘playoffs’, an objective for which the Italian team has been climbing.

Álex Mumbrú’s men aspire at the Mediolanum Forum, for the second time this season back to the top continental competition, to link two wins and establish an irregular march up to now. The ‘taronja’ team has shown the qualities to dream of, competing on each field and with seven important victories.

On the other hand, the new Valencian project has also shown moments of disconnection that have prevented it from establishing its new pieces and Mumbrú’s ideas. The last match of 2022 for Valencia comes after beating Barça last week in the Euroleague but losing this one to Gran Canaria in the Endesa League.

Despite the bittersweet taste, Mumbrú’s team is one win away from a very even ‘Top 8’, although for Milan they will not be able to count on point guard Chris Jones, who will stay in Valencia to receive treatment on his right knee and the absences of Sam Van Rossom and Martin Hermannsson.

Thus, with the best ‘taronja’ game director, Jones, dosing after his last injury, Valencia will have to get the most out of Harper and impose his rhythm against a rocky Milano that comes from two consecutive victories. Ettore Messina’s team also savored their first victory at home against AS Monaco, something they will want to enjoy again this Thursday.

“After their victory against Monaco, Armani Milano has recovered their sensations. They have a great team that started the season badly with the occasional injury, but in recent games they have been getting better and better. We were once again in a good moment of victories and although we lost an important game for us in Gran Canaria, this does not stop, it is the last game of the year and we want to finish well to be able to start 2023 on the right foot,” warned Mumbrú in statements provided by his club.
