The immediate synchronicity of Letizia and the first lady of Guatemala, Lucrecia Peinado

Gala dining room of the Royal Palace of Madrid. Kings Felipe VI and Letizia have offered a lunch to the president of Guatemala, Bernardo Arévalo de LeónAnd his wife, Lucrecia Hairstyle. It took place this Thursday, February 22, on the occasion of the visit of the president and his wife to Spain. The two first ladies have shown immediate synchronicity. As soon as they greeted each other, they started a conversation.

As protocol dictates, Lucrecia Peinado has sat to the right of Don Felipe. In front, she gave Letizia, next to the Guatemalan president and next to Pedro Sanchez. The president of the PP has also attended, Alberto Núñez Feijóo.

The Queen has rescued a Carolina Herrera lady's dress, which has always worked very well for her. A design with a powerful floral print, fitted at the waist and with a full flared skirt. The colors, in cobalt blue, coral and moss green, combined in harmony with the intense green of the first lady of Guatemala.

Peinado, a 62-year-old surgeon, is dedicated to the health agenda. For 30 years, she has been working to combat malaria in her country, reduce HIV infections and lower maternal mortality rates. In addition, she manages an extensive social agenda in which she is committed to giving visibility to people with disabilities, to working for the inclusion of vulnerable groups and for the well-being of people. Especially women. Mother of six children, Peinado has connected very well with the Queen.

In the welcome speech, the monarch expressed the “willingness to promote investment, national and foreign, to generate inclusive and sustainable growth. Our country, he said, is an important economic partner of Guatemala. Our trade balance has experienced significant growth in the last decade and we continue to be the main European investor in your country.”

The lunch was held one month after the monarch's trip to Guatemala City, where he attended the inauguration of the elected president, the Guatemalan Bernardo Arévalo de León. The investiture ceremony took place on January 14.

Intense agenda in Madrid

Intense agenda for President Arévalo de León, who met this morning with the King at the Zarzuela Palace. Also, with the mayor of Madrid, Josà © Luis MartÃnez-Almeida at the Cibeles Palace, where the head of state has signed his signature on the City Council's Golden Book. This afternoon he is scheduled to meet with President Pedro Sánchez at the Moncloa Palace.

Arévalo de León, sociologist, diplomat and politician, is the son of the former Guatemalan president Juan José Arévalo Bermejo (1945-1951). Nominated by the Semilla Movement, of which he was general secretary, he won the Presidency last August. He succeeds the Guatemalan Alejandro Giammattei in his position.
