The images of Michael Jackson naked, in the spotlight after the new lawsuit by his alleged victims

There are multiple agreements between celebrities and their accusers to stop legal proceedings in which they are accused of sexual abuse. Over the last few years we have learned how some film, music or sports stars have managed to avoid trial, after paying million-dollar amounts. It is the case of Michael Jackson.

2013 Wade Robson y James Safechuckwhich appear in the shocking documentary Leaving Neverland de HBO (2019), filed lawsuits against Jackson for sexual abuse when they were children. The king of pop, who died in 2009, would have paid 200 million dollars to the families of his alleged victims of abuse in order to silence themas published in 2015.

However, Robson (who reported abuse between 1990 and 1996 when he was eight years old) and Safechuck (who said he was abused between 1988 and 1992 when he was 11), filed a new civil lawsuit last year. Then, a California appeals court considered that the lawsuits filed by both should not have been dismissed in lower courts.

Just as this Friday the Daily Mail, the case could go to court next year. To build their defense, the plaintiffs ask to have access to police records that were sealed in 2005 and contain charges of alleged pedophilia against the singer.

However, the lawyers of MJJ Productions and MJJ Ventures, who defend the artist’s heirs, are against this request and, this Wednesday, presented a motion to the Los Angeles Superior Court to annul the four judicial summonses, as announced People.

They maintain that the plaintiffs’ true objective is to access the “photographs of Michael Jackson’s genitals and naked body taken by the police.” They explain that the images “were the result of a court-ordered search based on a false statement in what became a discredited criminal investigation.” And they add: “Allowing the plaintiffs to exploit this series of circumstances to their benefit by obtaining these photographs now adds a second contamination to the first.”

To date, no further details have been released about the photographs, such as when or why they were taken. On the other hand, it must be remembered that in investigations of this type, plaintiffs are usually asked for detailed descriptions of the private parts and body of their alleged attacker.
