The Huskers come back from a big deficit to beat Wisconsin in overtime.

Come back from being down 19 points, but don’t take the lead for the first time until 30 seconds remaining in the game. The jump-around party with students after the game will be remembered for a long time.

Simon Says to have C.J. Wilcher turn on the stove’s high heat and then for Rienk Mast to decide to cook on the same burner.

These were the steps needed for a comeback that made people hoarse and the hardwood floor shake under their feet.

With hard work and extra clutch on Thursday night, the Nebraska Huskers got a win at Pinnacle Bank Arena that was good enough for another court-storming. Fun was had during the break with a “Simon Says” show with students.

“To have this thing rocking tonight the way it did – it was dope,” stated Wilcher. “It’s certainly one of my finest experiences right here playing at PBA.”

The Huskers beat another top-10 team. They had to work hard to get out of the mud until they beat No. 6 Wisconsin 80–72 in overtime.

Nebraska has now beaten two top-10 teams in the same season for the sixth time in school history.

This is the first time since 2013–14 that this has happened since “No Sit Sunday” magic led to another memorable victory over Wisconsin that sent the Big Red team to the NCAA Tournament.

We can’t say for sure that this team is ready for that dance just yet, yet Thursday night helped a lot. Of course, no one had any idea about that possibility when Fred Hoiberg showed his team how loud he was able to get.

Nebraska beat No. 6 Wisconsin 80–72 in overtime on Thursday night, coming back from an 18-point deficit in the second half.

This is the second top 10 masculine college basketball team that Nebraska has beaten this season.

Early in overtime, Rienk Mast scored to give the Huskers the advantage for good. As time ran out, students rushed to the court for a second time this year. The first time was on January 9, when Nebraska beat No. 1 Purdue 88–72.

Mast finished with 20 points, and C.J. Wilcher scored 16 of his 22 points in the second half. The Huskers (16-6, 6-5) improved to 6-0 at home in Big Ten play.

It was Nebraska’s biggest return since beating Iowa by 19 points in 2013. Wisconsin was 120-0 when they were ahead by 15 points or more at halftime since 2000.

On top of that, AJ Storr scored 28 points, which was the same number as his season-high. Max Klesmit and Chucky Hepburn both had 13.

But Nebraska came back, took the game to overtime, and had one of the best comebacks in the history of the program.

After being down by as many as 19 points in the opening half, Nebraska was able to come back because Wisconsin shot only 36% in the second quarter and was careless with the ball.

In the last minute of regulation, Brice Williams made two free throws that gave Nebraska its first lead, 67-65. Storr’s layup tied the game, and in the last 20 seconds, Mast and Williams both missed two shots.

Nebraska tied the game at 52 after Wisconsin made eight mistakes in just eight seconds in the second half. Klesmit hit 11 points in just over two minutes, giving the Badgers a 63-56 lead.

Hoiberg said, “We jumped them at halftime.” “That’s the most excited I’ve ever been at halftime.”

They did the right thing by coming out and responding. That’s the point. When things don’t go your way, you need to find an approach to get back on track.

The Huskers (16-6, 6-5 in the Big Ten) haven’t done well at this on the road, but they’re a tough team at PBA, where they’re 14-1 this season. They’ve won here against Purdue, Michigan State, and Northwestern.
