The 'Hispanics' want to confirm the semifinals

A point against Belarus would secure the pass for Spain

MADRID, Jan. 19 (SportsFinding) –

The Spanish handball team is looking for Belarus against Belarus on Monday (6:15 pm / Teledeporte), in its fourth game of the 'Main Round', a victory that paves its way to the semifinals of the European Championship waiting to be played, predictably, the Group I's first position against Croatia, although a tie would guarantee the ticket for those of Jordi Ribera.

After an immaculate first phase, in which they beat Latvia (33-22), Germany (33-26) and the Netherlands (25-36), the 'Hispanics' advanced with two points to the next round, in which they maintained their full of triumphs before the Czech Republic (31-25) and Austria (30-26).

All this allows them to lead, with 6 units and a +17 goal difference, Group I of the 'Main Round' matched with a Croatia (+13) that has not yielded in its way in the continental tournament and to which will face Wednesday (4 pm).

For all this, a clear victory against the Belarusian team at the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna seems key, especially given the possibility that everything has to be decided by the 'golaverage' with a draw against the Croats. A point this Monday would mathematically guarantee their presence in the semifinals.

The second of Group I would cross with the first of Group II, right now Norway – in the absence of three days -, while the first would do so with the second classified, a position that Slovenia currently holds.

Belarus, to which Spain has won its five previous duels, is penultimate on the table with a victory – before the Czech Republic (28-25) – and a defeat – before Germany (23-31) – in the 'Main Round'. Previously, he fell with Croatia (31-23) and won Serbia (35-30) and Montenegro (27-36).

The clash will allow several KS Kielce Polish teammates of Talant Dujshebaev to face off: Alex and Dani Dujshebaev, Julen Aginagalde and Angel Fernandez with the pivot Artsem Karalek and the left side Uladzislau Kulesh.
