The president of the Higher Sports Council (CSD), José Manuel Franco, and the Colombian Sports Minister, Astrid Rodríguez, signed a collaboration agreement on Thursday “in order to promote and strengthen cooperation between the two countries in terms of sport and physical activity.
Coinciding with the participation of the president of the CSD in the XXIX General Assembly of the Ibero-American Sports Council (CID), which is being held in Cartagena de Indias, Franco and Rodríguez have sealed this bilateral agreement between Spain and Colombia.
According to a press release from the CSD itself, said agreement “will strengthen cooperation in the following areas: Sports for development; High Performance Centers; Inspection, surveillance and control; Physiotherapy and physical preparation; Sports Sciences; High Performance Sports and Sports Exchanges”.
“Through this agreement, the Higher Sports Council and the Colombian Ministry of Sports will promote the exchange of visits by sports delegations, the exchange of information and experiences, and attendance at meetings, conferences, seminars, and academic forums,” he added. the CSD in your note.
“The collaboration also contemplates, among others, the exchange of proposals to organize joint sports competitions, promoting public-private alliances; the management of projects in coordination with international cooperation agencies; and the promotion of actions to strengthen institutional capacities for the mainstreaming of the gender approach in the development of sports policies and the empowerment of women and girls in the sports ecosystem”, the note continued.
“Spain has always been a sister country for us and, in this case, we walk hand in hand to make sport an essential value for society”, stressed the Colombian Minister of Sport. For her part, Franco has stressed the importance of international cooperation in sports.
“This type of bilateral agreements, like the multilateral meetings that are taking place during the celebration of the XXIX General Assembly of the Ibero-American Sports Council, enrich Spanish sport”, Franco said in this regard.
