The Higher Sports Council, also against Casillas after the controversial “I’m gay” tweet: “Much to do”

Iker Casillas I messed it up this Sunday when from his Twitter account it was published: “I hope you respect me: I’m gay. #HappySunday.” These words deeply outraged the LGTBIQ + community, since sexual orientations are not a reason for ridicule. However, the former goalkeeper himself explained hours later that he suffered a hack.

However, many users on social networks doubted that it was a hack, since the tweet was deleted shortly after it was published. In addition, the one from Móstoles took just a few hours to recover his account, something unusual when cases of this type occur.

In the midst of an avalanche of tweets against Sara Carbonero’s ex, the Higher Sports Council wrote in its account: “Much to do, to advance, to educate and to raise awareness. We will continue.” They completed the tweet with the same hashtag that was used from the Casillas account (#Felizdomingo) and the rainbow emoticon, which represents the LGBT community. It should be noted that they published this message even after the apologies of the former merengue player.

The Higher Sports Council of Spain is an autonomous body, attached to the Ministry of Culture and Sports, which directly exercises the powers of the General State Administration in the field of sports.

Different users also compared the former Real Madrid goalkeeper with Neuer, goalkeeper of Bayern Munich and the German National Team, who has worn the rainbow armband on more than one occasion on the pitch to support the group. “Two heterosexual soccer players. Different commitment and responsibility,” wrote the water polo player and LGTBI secretary of the PSOE, Victor Gutierreza Twitter.

Carles Puyol, like Casillas, was also criticized because he continued with Iker’s joke after the original tweet. The former Barça captain also apologized for it.
