The heartbreaking message from the family of Edwin Arrieta on the verge of a month after the crime: “This pain is getting bigger”

This September 2 will mark one month of the murder and dismemberment of Edwin Arrieta at the hands, as he himself confessed, of daniel sancho. The son of Rodolfo Sancho He has been in pretrial detention since August 7 and awaiting trial. The Thai police revealed that they will ask for the death penalty for him, concluding that it was a “premeditated murder”.

The victim’s family, for their part, has made a desperate appeal: “We want to bring him to Colombia.” The surgeon’s sister, Darling Arrietahas said that his “pain” becomes “greater” every day by not being able to bury him.

“This is horrible because every day we wake up knowing that the body is there, that his body is there and that we have not been able to give him a Christian burial as Christians that we are,” Darling said through tears in an interview with the RCN Channel.

“My mother asks that the ashes be delivered to her, she does not want the body, she wants the ashes. My mother already bought her an ossuary. She already has the place where they are going to bring my brother. My mother, that pain is made bigger. It’s quite a heavy cross”, he lamented.

Although they understand that “there are some reports that the Thai authorities have to give”, they demand that the procedures be expedited. “We want and ask the chancery, the embassy, ​​the Colombian State through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to please expedite, that the time be shorter. Here the moral right of the family prevails,” he explains, in addition to insist that he does not want his brother’s crime “not to go unpunished”.
