The investment, within the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, will be carried out in the last quarter of 2021

The Government has approved an item of 49 million for this fiscal year 2021 for the Autonomous Communities and the autonomous cities of Ceuta and Melilla to develop reforms and investments for the revitalization, restructuring and modernization of the sports sector.
This item is part of the Ecological Transition line of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan and will be used to fully renovate the facilities of the High Performance Centers (CAR) and Sports Technification throughout Spain. It is about promoting their adaptation to the new socioeconomic reality through the processes of digital transformation and ecological transition that are necessary for their modernization.
Specifically, the actions to be carried out are part of the project ‘Modernization of High Performance Centers: Plan Energía Deporte 2.0’. It includes actions aimed at replacing the current energies used in their operation by others with lower polluting emissions, as well as the renewal of equipment to obtain maximum energy performance from each of the systems they have.
At least 54 modernization centers and / or sports facilities will benefit from these 49 million, which will allow them to renew their equipment, improve their energy efficiency and update their infrastructures.
After the authorization of the distribution criteria by the Council of Ministers, it will be the Sports Sector Conference that will soon approve them definitively. Thus, the resources to be managed by the autonomous communities and cities of Ceuta and Melilla will have a distribution based on the data obtained from the Network of Technification centers.
The items range from 8.5 million euros to Catalonia and 253,170 euros for Castilla-La Mancha. The Valencian Community and Madrid will receive 5.5 and 5.1 million, respectively.
