The future of football, up for debate at the Wanda Metropolitano

From 2019 until now, the world has seen a number of changes at great speed. COVID-19 has caused the entire planet to adjust to a new normal. And football has not been less. World Football Summit will be held again this Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 and it will do so by bringing together the big names in the football industry in the Metropolitan Wanda. He will do it to talk about the future of this sport. The great challenges, threats, illusions and opportunities that you face.

World Football Summit is the most important football congress in Europe, which is held again in Madrid after a year of absence due to the pandemic. It will do so in a hybrid way, with speakers and followers in person and virtually. The WFS will reflect on the direction that this sport is facing, what its present and its future are like. The proposals of the Superliga, a World Cup every two years, the reforms of the Champions League, the relevance of the major leagues, women's football … Issues of great relevance for the players of this sport (presidents, clubs, federations, leagues, sponsors, players, governments, operators and, above all, fans).

To debate and reflect on such hot and relevant topics, WFS has prepared a cast of more than 100 top-notch speakers. Proof of this is the host, Miguel Ángel Gil Marín, CEO of Atlético de Madrid. Will also be Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, which will not be cut when defending national competitions against Superliga or biannual World Cup projects. Representing FIFA will be Emilio García Silvero, the Spaniard who acts as legal director in the institution that directs football. But there will not only be managers, but also great ex-footballers who are still linked to this sport to make it grow in different ways. Cases like that of Samuel Etoo, Mijatovic, Fernando Hierro and Fernando Sanz. The four will participate in the round table 'Legends of the game looking to the future' that Vicente Jiménez, director of Diario AS, will moderate.

The event, of which Prisa Media is a collaborating partner, will have more than 2,200 attendees from 150 countries. Of these, at least 600 professionals will meet physically. Either in person or online, the present and the future of football come together this Wednesday and Thursday at the Wanda Metropolitano.
