The Fuenlabrada case skyrockets: 12 more positives since yesterday

Fuenlabrada revealed this morning, in a statement, that eight more people than those who traveled to A Coruña for the match against Deportivo and four of those who stayed in Madrid have also tested positive. That elevates to 28 the number of affected. The possibility that this game between Galicians and Madrid, decisive for the promotion playoff, seems increasingly distant.

The club shows its strangeness by the growth of cases, evidenced after the last tests carried out by indication of LaLiga, because the players are isolated in their rooms and because the new positives had been negative in many previous tests. At all times the expedition is accompanied by a doctor from Deportivo de La Coruña.

On the other hand, the player who was hospitalized yesterday after suffering a blackout is still admitted to the Coruña clinic, although its state is not serious.

The club statement says the following:

“From the CF Fuenlabrada we want to express our deep pain and concern for the results of the last PCR tests carried out that indicate atotal of 28 positives at CF Fuenlabrada.

There is a total of 12 new cases. Four of the new cases are in Madrid and they had no contact since the match against Elche on July 17. The eight other new cases have been negative since Saturday 18 And, after eight days and despite being isolated in their rooms for the last six days, today the results have been positive. Furthermore, among the 12 new cases there were two people with antibodies having already passed the disease and yet they have tested positive in this last test.

On the other hand, communicating that two close contacts of CF Fuenlabrada have also tested positive.

We are evaluating the measures to be taken in light of the situation we are experiencing and today we will initiate contacts with LaLiga.

In addition, inform that the player hospitalized yesterday is still hospitalized, stable and with non-serious symptoms derived from COVID-19 “.
