It is not common for the same player to play for two clubs as antagonistic as Real Madrid and Barcelona, but it has happened on a number of occasions. Figo, Luis Enrique, Laudrup, Eto’o and Ronaldo are the most remarkable, but the Saviola, Schuster, Hagi, Prosinecki, Lopetegui and company raise the list to 34. However, there is a group to which only four of them belong, that of footballers who have scored in a Clásico with both shirts: Figo, Luis Enrique, Ronaldo and Samitier.
Chronologically, the last of those cited was the first. Samitier (1902-1972), the magicianthat curiously is legend of the Barça, but he was more prolific with the Madridista elastic. From 1919 to 1932 he became one of the most iconic players in the Blaugrana team and, despite playing as a midfielder, he was an accomplished goalscorer. However, for the capital as a whole he would score three goals, for only one for the Barcelona player. In 1931-32 he scored for Barcelona in a 2-2 draw and would change sides at the end of that campaign. In his first year with Madrid he would do a brace to his ex that sealed a 2-1 and in the second and last he would dip again in another white victory.
Luis Enrique would be next. Contrary to Samitier, the current national coach would play first in Madrid, where he would go to Barcelona in the summer of 96, after being a regular starter in the merengue entity since he arrived from Sporting in 1991-92. His first goal in a Clásico would be before changing scenery, in a 5-0 suffered by Barça, with a goal from the Spaniard. In his first year in Barcelona he would see goal, in 1998-99 he will be key with a double (final 3-0) and he would celebrate again in 2000-01, in a 2-0, and in 2002-03 , in a tie to one. Five goals in total. For the Madrid fans, he was a traitor for many years and became a symbol of Barcelona.
In case of Ronaldo Nazario it is the opposite, since he left his mark more profoundly on Madrid. Although, yes, he first went through Barça, in 1996-97 where he scored the goal of the Barça victory (1-0) at the Camp Nou. He would leave for Milan and years later he would return to LaLiga, when he left Inter and became one of Florentino Pérez’s Galácticos del Madrid. He would score four goals with the madridista shield on his chest, for a total of five in his account in Clásicos. He would see the goal once a season, scoring a goal in 2002-03 (in a 1-1), in 2003-04 (win 1-2), in 2004-05 (win 4-2 at the Bernabéu ) and in 2005-06, which would close his account in a draw (1-1) in the Barcelona fiefdom.
Finally, although his first goal would come before Ronaldo signed for Barça, the most notorious case, like his own louis figo could see on his return to the Campo Nou after being Florentino’s first coup in the presidency. The signing of the 10,000 million pesetas was an idol at Barça and then a major villains that are remembered. In the 1995-96 season he was key with his goal in a 3-0 win at the Camp Nou, he would celebrate again in 1997-98 (3-0) and the last one before changing shirts was in 1999-00 (2 -two). With Madrid he only did one, in a 2-0 at the Santiago Bernabéu. Four goals in total. Five years in each team, more games in Barcelona (172 to 164), but indelible its treason for the culé fan.
