The first edition of LaLiga Summer Tour ends with more than 100,000 attendees

MADRID, 7 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

LaLiga Summer Tour, the platform created by LaLiga to take pre-season matches to different parts of the world, has completed its first edition with more than 100,000 fans in the stands watching the Atlético de Madrid, Real Betis, Real Sociedad and Sevilla FC matches held in the stadiums of Guadalajara (Mexico), Monterrey (Mexico) and San Francisco (United States).

The Sevillian derby was played at the Akron Stadium in Guadalajara, while the Atlético de Madrid-Real Sociedad game was played at the BBVA Stadium in Monterrey. The other two matches, Real Sociedad-Real Betis and Sevilla-Atlético, were held at Oracle Park in San Francisco.

In total, more than 100,000 spectators in the stands of the three stadiums and more than 30 different activations that included the participation of LaLiga sponsors, including a visit to the EA SPORTS headquarters in San Francisco; and activations by Sorare, Verizon, PUMA, Golball, CHUBB, Motorola and Camarena with players. In addition, the clubs also visited local teams such as the Golden State Warriors and San Francisco 49ers.

The LaLiga Summer Tour complements LaLiga North America’s strategy of expanding the fan base of the competition, and of the clubs, in the United States and Mexico; particularly attracting a young and multicultural following. In association with Relevent Sports, the leading soccer media and events company in North America, the LaLiga Summer Tour has been the largest and most comprehensive tour ever organized outside of Spain.

The CEO of LaLiga North America, Boris Gartner, explained that this first edition of the LaLiga Summer Tour serves to “verify the passion with which the matches are lived” by clubs outside of Spain. “It is a key action to demonstrate and reinforce the international expansion of LaLiga, both in Mexico and the United States, which represent two strategic territories for the majority of LaLiga clubs. We will continue to move forward to bring the competition even closer to our fans and to continue building actions so that the best of the clubs in North America can be experienced,” he said.
