“The Feminine is holding the bar of successes of the club”

Joan Laporta, president of FC Barcelona, accompanied Alexia Putellas and Jennifer Hermoso, finalists of ‘The Best’, together with Xavier Budó in the telematic ceremony where the prizes were awarded. Laporta explained, on Barça TV, that “this award means advancing in something that is already consolidated and in which work is being done to make it present and also future. The future is consolidated in this way”. The Barcelona president and the two soccer players highlighted the international repercussion of the Women’s titles, as well as the work for the future.

So much Alexia como Jennifer they put the team at the center of individual achievement. Alexia stressed that “these are things that you don’t think will happen, but they are the result of the work that the whole team did. Then come the individual prizes. jenni and me we are here representing the whole team”.

She dedicated the ‘The Best’ award “to all the people who have trusted us, to those who have supported us when we have had a bad time”. And he stressed that “work is being done so that this continues in the future, surely there will be many more players.”

The impact of the Feminine

In this sense, Laporta made a wish: “Hopefully in fifteen years they will be here (Alexia and Jenni), Barça is in front of everything of the world, it is said quickly but it is difficult to do”. He stressed that “the women’s team is holding up the bar of success for the club and that is to be appreciated. In the international arena, we are the reference. You have managed to fill the Camp Nou, because we are a reference”. And he put a challenge: “That they come out of the quarry more players like Alexia and that they continue to compete and leave Barça at the top”.

Jenni highlighted the importance to play at the Camp Nou and, regarding the prize that Alexia received, he commented that “we have experienced it with enthusiasm and another prize remains here at home. She knows it, to play with her and living football as she lives it is very special. Let her take it, I am happy as if I had won it”.

Xavier Budó, sports director of the club, highlighted that “the most beautiful thing is that they work and continue to work to continue winning. I would define Alexia with one word: ‘Absolute commitment’. His speech is excellent, because he talks about excellence, and in the club we seek excellence
