The feminine FC Barcelona wants to prolong its invincibility in Sweden

BARCELONA, 26 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The women’s FC Barcelona travels this Thursday (6:45 p.m.) to Sweden to face Rosengard, on the second day of the Champions League, where the Catalans will try to prolong their impeccable start to the season both in the League and in the continental competition.

Jonatan Giráldez’s team exceeded ‘culés’ expectations in its debut in ‘Champions’ last Wednesday. Thus, Barça swept the Johan Cruyff with a resounding 9-0 victory over Portuguese Benfica and quickly presented their candidacy for the continental title after achieving the biggest win in the club’s history.

A full-fledged party for the undefeated in the new F League, with its captain, Alexia Putellas, as a brand new Ballon d’Or for the second consecutive year. In this way, the Catalans continue without giving up a point and have already taken the first step to recover their lost crown last year.

The euphoria in the club was evident this week with the awards received at the European Women’s Football Gala. Up to five awards were tinged with azulgrana in the second edition. Alexia Putellas was awarded the MVP Trophy and her teammates Claudia Pina, Salma Paralluelo and Julia Bartel, U-20 world champion and U-19 European champion with the International Impact, Best Goal and Promise Trophies, respectively.

Now, in their second continental challenge, and after doing their homework one more day in the League, crushing Real Betis (0-3), they will return to Rosengard, a setting where they have good memories. Precisely, in the 2016/17 season they managed to qualify for the first time in their history for the semifinals of the Champions League.

The good news for Barcelona is the medical discharge of Salma Paralluelo, who has not yet made her debut due to her physical problems. For this reason, Jonatan Giráldez could give her her first chance in a match in which rotations are expected after her overwhelming debut of the course. They have also entered the call Txell Font, the goalkeeper of the subsidiary; and Maria Perez.

For its part, Rosengard, champions of the Swedish league, stumbled in their first European match against Bayern, who took the match by the minimum (2-1). However, the Swedes will arrive more shots than the ‘culés’, having played 24 games in the League, leading a classification in which they have only lost two games.
