The FEF will ask to sanction Pellegrini for his statements against the referees

Pellegrin's post-match statementsi, Betis coach, after the defeat against Real Madrid it could cost him from four to twelve games of sanction, although it is most likely that he will fall the minimum punishment. As AS has learned, the Federation will ask the Competition Committee tomorrow Monday to open a file with the Verdiblanco coach for doubting the honorability of the referees after the clash with the whites. A rule that this season has been toughened in the Disciplinary Code compared to previous seasons.

“I say that playing against Madrid, VAR and expulsion, all together, is difficult,” said the Chilean coach yesterday on the Movistar + microphones after Betis' defeat to Real Madrid 2-3. Some statements that have been understood from the Federation as an insult against the arbitration team and its impartiality, since it implies the coach that they play against Madrid and the referees as if it were another team and not a judge who imparts justice. These statements will be transferred from the Federation to the Competition Committee so that they can decide whether or not they should be punished.

It is also being studied to request that another file be opened to Joel Robles, Betis goalkeeper, who also doubted the honorability of the referees. “When in doubt, always for the big one. They are always small plays in favor of the big team”, athe goalkeeper scored. Some controversial statements that are derived from the decisions of De Burgos Bengoetxea when signaling a penalty for a hand from Bartra and expelling Emerson. Both notified by the VAR.

The Disciplinary Code regulates injuries to arbitrators

The Federation's Disciplinary Code already stipulated sanctions for criticizing the referees, but these have been toughened in the face of the new season. This says the new text:

“The making by any person subject to sports discipline of statements through any means by which the honesty and impartiality of any member of the arbitration group or of the RFEF bodies is questioned; as well as statements that suppose a disapproval of the activity of any member of the aforementioned groups when they are carried out with contempt or when offensive, insulting, humiliating or abusive language is used, the following will be sanctioned:

– In the case of soccer players, technicians, physical trainers, delegates, doctors, ATS / FTP, health aides or material managers, from four to twelve suspension matches and a fine of 601 to 3,005.06 euros.

– In the case of managers, clubs or any other person or entity, with a fine of 601 to 3,005.06 euros “.
