Carmona was one of the key players in Spain’s victory in the World Cup. In the semifinals he scored against Sweden the final 2-1 with which Spain agreed to the final, in which he also scored the only goal that gave the team led by Jorge Vilda.
According to various media, Olga’s father died several hours before the final match and her family and friends decided not to tell her so as not to influence her state of mind ahead of the match. The player found out once it was over.
