The F League wants to focus on its “brand project” and not “depend” on the CSD subsidy

MADRID, 20 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The F League optimistically faces the short-term future that is presented to it, in which it wants to focus mainly on developing a “brand project” to grow the commercial part and totally minimize the impact that the grant granted may have ending. by the Higher Sports Council for the first three seasons of the professionalization of women’s football.

“We do not want to depend on a subsidy, which is granted to consolidate, our work is related to the brand project because a better product is worth more and the commercial part will grow,” said Pablo Vilches, CEO of League F, during an informative breakfast. with media at the headquarters of the employer’s association with President Beatriz Álvarez.

The manager highlighted that right now they have “stability” thanks to the five-year agreements with ‘DAZN’ as the ‘tender’ of audiovisual rights and with LaLiga as a commercial agency. “The objective is for these initial amounts to grow due to audiovisual growth,” he remarked.

However, he does not forget that due to the CSD resolution last June and the “artificial increases in federation costs”, between the clubs and the employers’ association they are “contributing five million.” “The initial subsidy from CSD is 5 million so it is beginning to have a neutral effect, we have already denounced it a lot,” he pointed out, stressing that the agreements for 35 and 42 million over 5 years with ‘DAZN’ and LaLiga “are not linear and that growth greatly cushions the disappearance of the subsidy”.

In any case, Vilches is optimistic about the apparent change in the RFEF. “With the new people it seems that we are on other paths to solve things, that it is not about stopping paying arbitrations and collaborating with grassroots football but that this is consistent. We are working on returning to a realistic scenario with the RFEF and when the CSD subsidy ceases to exist, we must work to ensure that these ‘leonine’ conditions disappear,” he warned.

The CEO celebrated that there is “institutional respect” between the federation and League F, as could be seen with the change to the time of coach Montse Tomé’s press conference on Tuesday the 21st, scheduled for 12:00, at 4:00 p.m. and that It would have coincided with the presentation of the official ‘Panini’ album at the league headquarters.

“Pedro Rocha made the commitment to be agile in signing a new Coordination Agreement and resolve any conflicts that may arise,” added Vilches, whose interlocutors in the RFEF are Elvira Andrés, director of the Presidential Cabinet, and Alfredo Olivares, director of Competitions.

“The issue of assistance involves improving the product and that involves improving the facilities, we have a significant handicap in terms of facilities. If we want to have an attractive competition we have to iron out competitive differences and work on the facilities,” said Vilches.

The CEO recalled that the Higher Sports Council “gave a subsidy” to the clubs for this improvement of their facilities. “The result should be seen next season, I hope that almost everyone is already with natural grass,” he admitted. Regarding video arbitration, he recalled that the F League has been “open from day one” to its implementation and that other more economical options have been studied.

The manager also acknowledged that they have “thought about changing the format” of the competition, but that it is not an issue that is “on the table.” “There are more urgent things and it must be decided by the clubs and it must go through the RFEF,” he stressed.

Asked about the non-appearance of the Real Madrid coach at a press conference or of any player in the mixed zone after this Sunday’s game against FC Barcelona, something that is not mandatory in the league, he preferred to focus on “”the differential fact” that there was a “flash interview” with Ivana Andrés, Madrid captain, although she did not hide that they could “propose to regulate” the mandatory nature of these competitions and that as a league they have “a pedagogical task” in that sense, also warning that the Madrid team you run the risk of “isolating yourself.”

Regarding the audience data on ‘DAZN’, he referred to a “first analysis” of the first six days that details that the audience “has grown more than 25 percent weighting it with the open on YouTube” and that from the platform ” are satisfied with the growth of the audiences. “They have created specific women’s football packages and continue to work innovatively to attract more subscribers,” she added.

THEY EXPECT THE COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT TO BE SIGNED “BEFORE MARCH”

On the other hand, the vice president of League F Rubén Alcaine was also present at this meeting, who is “contemplating” the loss of CSD aid for the fourth and fifth year, and that what they must pay to the RFEF is “sine die until they change.”

Furthermore, regarding the Collective Agreement, he stressed that “the intention is to have it signed before March.” “We believe that there will not be too much conflict. We want to maintain the Compensation List and the unions remove it, we want to reach an intermediate point so that it does not disappear, but that it is not an ‘open bar’ either,” he said.
