The European Olympic Committees (EOC) have held their first Executive Committee of 2024 at the headquarters of the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE), a meeting inaugurated by the president of the COE, Alejandro Blanco, chaired by Spyros Capralos, president of the EOC, and which It was attended by the general secretary of the COE, Victoria Cabezas, a member of this Executive Committee.
Before starting the session, the Greek leader gave the president of the COE and the general secretary a gift in gratitude for their willingness to host this meeting at the headquarters of the national Olympic entity. “Spain is one of our most important members. It is always very actively involved. Alejandro Blanco and Victoria Cabezas are very respected people who always make very valuable contributions,” he indicated.
For his part, Alejandro Blanco presented Spyros Capralos with recognition from the Spanish Olympic family for his leadership and work at the head of the EOC.
During the Executive Committee, a report was developed on the past European Games held in Krakow and preparations began for the 2027 edition, whose venue has yet to be decided. The latest news on the winter and summer Youth Olympic Festivals to be held in 2025 in Bakuriani and Skopje, respectively, was also reported, and applications for those in 2027 have been assessed.
Likewise, the 53rd General Assembly of the EOC was prepared, which will take place on June 6 and 7 in Bucharest.
