The Englishman Matt Fitzpatrick conquers the Estrella Damm NA Andalucía Masters

MADRID, 17 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The English golfer Matt Fitzpatrick was crowned this Sunday champion of the seventh edition of the Estrella Damm NA Andalucía Masters, a scoring tournament for the European Tour, after showing patience and experience on the decisive Sunday.

Fitzpatrick, the best classified in the world ranking in the appointment after the departure of world number one, the Spanish Jon Rahm, and a member of the European team of the last Ryder Cup, started on the last day in second position, three shots from his compatriot Laurie Canter, but he was very regular to end up winning the trophy.

The Englishman finished his time on the RC Valderrama course with a total of six under par after signing a final score of 69 strokes, two under par, with no errors and two birdies, on holes 16 and 17, with which he certified his victory with three margin impacts on the Swede Sebastian Soderberg and the Australian Min Woo Lee.

“I have always had the objective of winning at Valderrama given the history it has. To achieve it without committing ‘bogeys’ on Sunday is very special. It seemed to me that if I held on, I would resist in the upper zone and make a couple of birdies if possible, the pairs they weren’t bad, and that’s what happened, “celebrated the winner, who added his seventh triumph on the European Tour.

For his part, Barcelona’s Pablo Larrazábal finished as the best Spaniard in the Estrella Damm NA Andalucía Masters in twentieth position with a total of one over par after a Sunday where he delivered a score of 70 (-1).
