MADRID, 27 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The eLaLiga Santander concluded its 2021-22 season, a course in which more than 30,000 players from 14 countries have competed, and which has closed with an event held at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami (United States).
The two international bets for LaLiga this season have been ‘Beat the Best’ and the ‘Challenges’ in China and the United States. The ‘Beat the Best’ initiative consisted of amateur players from each country competing to play a final against a local ‘influencer’, and it has been carried out in countries such as Mexico, Brazil, Egypt or Indonesia.
For its part, the ‘Challenges’ have been a success. In fact, the finals of the eLaLiga All-Star US Challenge, which were held at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami, added more than 300,000 hours of viewing, according to LaLiga. Professional players from eLaLiga teams and influencers participated in the event, as well as the four amateurs who had won the prize tournaments.
A similar experience was held in Shanghai in February, when nearly four million unique viewers watched the tournament pitting China’s best FIFA players against each other. Now the Spanish football association plans to continue with a similar system in the 2022/23 season.
LaLiga’s Director of Digital Strategy, Alfredo Bermejo, was very satisfied with the results of the project this year. “After a difficult 20/21 season, we can say that our bet on 21/22 has allowed us to get closer to the fans, offer a better experience and, as a result, achieve better results globally,” he commented.
“We are convinced that eLaLiga will continue on this path of growth and will become not only an attractive option for players from all over the world, but also for sponsors such as Galaxy Racer and clubs interested in joining this project,” concluded Bermejo.
