The RFEF, which will finally organize the draw, regrets that it will take place 16 days after the initial date due to the “interference” of the LPFF
MADRID, 10 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The draw for the calendar of the Women’s First Division of football will take place this Friday, August 12, in the Luis Aragonés Hall of the City of Football in Las Rozas, according to a statement from the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
In the note, the Federation criticizes “the interference of the Professional Women’s Soccer League (LPFF)”, which causes the draw for the First Division calendar to take place “16 days after the initial date set by the RFEF”. “The RFEF regrets that the draw for the calendar of the First Division of women’s football had been postponed after the LPFF presented a conflict of competences that has delayed all the activity of the clubs, the players and clearly harmed all of women’s football”, the body stated.
The body chaired by Luis Rubiales also rejected, in the statement, the reaction of the LPFF requesting the draw for this Wednesday, “with less than 24 hours of organizational margin”, after the CSD required this Tuesday the LPFF and the RFEF to execute the calendar draw in a “coordinated manner”.
“Those who are minimally related to events of these characteristics know that carrying them out with all the guarantees require other margins, given the times required by the computerized treatments for the configuration of the templates and the introduction of the conditioning factors,” said the federal entity .
Thus, the RFEF, “activated all internal protocols for the correct development of the draw”, announced that it will take place this Friday, August 12, in the Luis Aragonés room in Las Rozas at 12:00.
On July 26, the CSD suspended the draws for the Women’s First Division of soccer due to the “presence of discrepancies” between the LPFF and the RFEF regarding the competition for the organization and holding of the pairing draw.
Given this, the Federation recalled that the federal entity “has made all the draws in the history of all categories of national football, both professional and non-professional.”
