The director of the Australian Open, booed by the Djokovic case

Australian Open director Craig Tiley got some boos in his first public appearance at the tournament for handling the Djokovic case, in which there were proven errors on the part of the organization he presides over, Tennis Australia, before the Serb, number one in the world, was deported and, consequently, dropped from the competition.

The leader went to the KIA Arena to deliver a bouquet of flowers to the tennis player aussie Samantha Stosur, who announced her decision to retire at the Grand Slam of her country at the age of 37, and part of the public rebuked him by considering him as one of those responsible for a situation for which the Oceanic country’s Tennis Federation apologized.

At his press conference, Stosur said he hadn’t heard the crowd’s reaction.: “I didn’t notice the boos,” he said. “I don’t think this is the time or the place for that. It’s a bit hard. It is an unfortunate situation that has developed and is behind us. If everyone could go back and change things, they would, and hopefully none of that will ever happen again in the future.”
