The details of the reception that Felipe VI and Letizia are going to preside over at the Royal Palace: 2,500 guests, groups and agape

Everything ready for the reception at the Royal Palace on the occasion of the National Holiday. The Kings will preside over this event on Wednesday, October 12, which has been delayed by the pandemic and has not been held since 2019. This year is the year of recovery and it returns to the original format. The greeting of the authorities will take place, as usual, in the Throne Room.

According to Casa Real, 2,500 people are invited. The criterion that has been followed has been to summon “the highest institutional representation and the widest representation of the different sectors of Spanish society”. According to official sources, emphasis has been placed on two fields: “In the groups with which contact and pulse of reality were maintained during the pandemic (mainly health and social care) and the entities and places in which acts have been carried out in the last year”.

The representatives of the high powers of the State, the Government, the president of the Congress and the president of the Senate are summoned; the president of the Constitutional Court; and the presidents of the autonomous communities. Leaders and spokespersons of political forces with parliamentary representation also attend. At the economic level, representatives of employers’ associations (CEOE) and unions, presidents and CEO’s of large IBEX and public companies; of the Economic and Social Council and the Chamber of Spain, among others.

Different social care groups are also invited, such as ONCE, AECC, whose honorary president is Queen Letizia; Caritas; foundations linked to the Royal House such as the Princess of Asturias Foundation and the Princess of Girona Foundation; representatives of culture and the media. After complimenting the Kings, the guests will go to the gala dining room where there will be groups and an agape that Mallorca will serve.
