The death of a former Manchester City veteran causes a stir in England

Shock in England over the death of Jeremy Wisten. Manchester City reported the death of its former tenant, who joined in 2016 and had recently left the English club after he was absent.

“The Manchester City family is saddened to learn of the passing of former academy player Jeremy Wisten. We send our deepest condolences to his friends and family. Our thoughts are with you in these difficult times, “said the City statement.

The 17-year-old footballer appeared lifeless and the hypothesis of a suicide is being considered, although everything is being investigated at the moment.

The news has caused a great impact, highlighting the psychological consequences of not succeeding in the world of football, since less than 1% of the children who enter the quarry of a club at the age of 9 make their debut with the first team.

City first-team players such as Raheem Sterling and Aymerich Laporte have expressed sadness over the loss of Wisten.
