The Danish Kragh Andersen (Alpecin) wins the Eschborn-Frankfurt with authority

BARCELONA, 1 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Danish cyclist Soren Kragh Andersen (Alpecin-Deceuninck) won the 60th edition of the Eschborn-Frankfurt this Monday, disputed between these two towns over a 203.8-kilometre route, by winning the sprint, from the breakaway, with authority.

Kragh Andersen, winner of two stages in the 2020 Tour de France, achieved his first victories with the colors of Alpecin-Deceuninck and he did it with mastery and a lot of power, attacking from afar and leaving the rest of his adventure companions seated.

The 28-year-old Dane led the 10-unit group in a key corner and no longer gave anyone a chance to overtake him, not even the Austrian Patrick Konrad (BORA-hansgrohe), second, the Italian Alessandro Fedeli (Q36.5 Pro), third.

Other important rivals, such as the Swiss Marc Hirschi (UAE Team Emirates) or the Italian Lorenzo Rota (Intermarché-Circus-Wanty), fourth and fifth respectively, also managed to get into the good break of the day -other previous attempts were unsuccessful- -.

However, Kragh Andersen was the strongest despite the fact that it seemed that his sprint could take a long time as he attacked from quite a distance and after a good effort in the breakaway, together with his teammates, to keep at bay a peloton that reached 18 seconds behind , led by Arnaud De Lie (Lotto Dstny) and Alexander Kristoff (Uno-X).
