the CSD suspends the two draws of the Women’s League

The CSD has just announced that the draw for the professional women’s League calendar announced for this noon by the League is paralyzed, as well as the draw that the RFEF had announced scheduled for Wednesday the 27th. The Higher Sports Council wanted take action on the matter with a drastic measure.

On the part of the CSD, they assure that it is a “grotesque and sad” situation where “the players are being used as hostages”.

Finally, Shortly before its celebration, the CSD has agreed to suspend the two draws of the professional women’s league calendar. The clubs had been informed that the League draw would be held this afternoon, at 1:00 p.m. electronically, just the day before the RFEF was going to carry out its draw.

In the resolution, signed by the president of the CSD, Jose Manuel Franco, and to which Europa Press has had access, the Secretary of State for Sport resolves “to suspend the holding of the match-up draw for the First Division Women’s Football calendar called by both the LPFF and the RFEF.” Said measure is adopted in the “presence of discrepancies” between the LPFF and the RFEF regarding the competence to organize and hold the draw.

CSD sources expressed their “perplexity” and “concern” about this conflict. And they add that “the players, who are the ones who are creating fans and bringing together three million people in front of the screens, are the unnecessary hostages of conflicts outside of them. We take this edition to avoid a greater embarrassment.”

From Mundo Deportivo we had already announced this first conflict between the new Professional Women’s League and the RFEF. The LPFF presented last week a conflict of competences before the Higher Sports Council in the face of the announcement, on July 16, by the RFEF about the organization and holding of the draw for the Women’s First Division this Wednesday. the league

“The professional leagues are the competent ones in terms of security, infrastructure, audiovisual and commercial marketing, among others, matters that affect and must be taken into consideration when organizing and establishing the calendars that will later be drawn”, they remember from the LPFF.
