The compensation list is canceled only for Barça, Real Madrid and Athletic

He conflict over compensation clauses affecting players under 23 who want to change clubs this season has already reached a final resolution.

The National Court has rejected the union's request ‘Footballers ON’ to declare the nullity of said compensation list, which has been included in the Collective agreement, although it qualifies that “it must be limited to the signing subjects” of the same.

In other words, this measure is void for the three teams that are not part of the ACFF -Association of Women's Soccer Clubs-, which are FC Barcelona, Real Madrid and Athletic. Players who do not belong to any of the unions that signed the agreement until it is published in the BOE are also included.

Abusive amounts

It was one of the most anticipated news in recent days in women's football. Article 20 of the I Professional Women's Soccer Collective Agreement that regulates training rights had generated enormous controversy due to the abusive amounts that some clubs demand of their players for changing clubs -not in the case of signing for a foreign club-, some amounts far removed from the reality of women's football and what the players charge.

After this sentence, the Real Madrid, Athletic and Barça They can sign any player under the age of 23 without having to pay any clause.

This opens the doors for the Barça team to take on the signing of Dámaris Egurrola, one of his goals this season, without having to pay the 250 thousand euros that Athletic Club demands. In the case of Eva Navarro, which Real Madrid claims, would also not have to pay Levante the release clause of 50,000 euros.

As reported by the National Court, the Chamber considers that the Agreement had not been published in the BOE and therefore does not meet the validity requirements of article 90 of the Workers Statute to be considered a statutory agreement, with which its effectiveness and that of the compensation list, “must be limited to the signing subjects”.

“One before and one after”

Footballers ON believes that the AN ruling “must mark a before and after in the female Collective Agreement. From ON Footballers we want to value and thank that in this historic sentence there is a written and signed appearance by 10 of the 17 players included in the Compensation List, expressing their disagreement with the amounts set as compensation for training by their respective clubs, “said the union in press release.

For the association, “this is not a victory only for them, but for all the Spanish soccer players.”
