The speech of Carlos III as the new king

“I know how you and the entire nation sympathize with me for the irreparable loss that we all suffer. For me it is a great comfort to know the condolences that you have expressed. My mother was an example of a life of social service. My mother’s reign was unmatched in duration, dedication and emotion. I am fully aware of this great heritage and of the duties and responsibilities of the throne that is conferred on me.
