The club's 'compliance' strikes back: accuses Barça of “falsehoods and inaccuracies”

If Josep Maria Bartomeu believed that, with the five folios of conclusions that he exhibited on the audit carried out by PwC on the matter of social networks, the matter would be terminated, he is totally wrong.

Not only did the appearance of the club's spokesman, Josep Vives, and the legal manager, Román Gómez Ponti, not finish clearing up any of the doubts that hang over this thorny issue – currently also prosecuted by a group of members – but also the president's two interviews with two radio stations did not show clear water either.

In fact, Noelia Romero, the Barcelona 'compliance officer' suspended from employment and salary – unlike the adviser to the presidency Jaume Masferrer, only suspended from employment – sent this afternoon a very forceful statement, directly accusing the club's spokesperson and the legal responsible for “Falsehoods and inaccuracies” in their statements.

Furthermore, Romero urges members to request the full text of the PwC audit and not settle for just the five folios summarized by the club. Likewise, it is placed at the disposal of the judicial authority to give a statement on the report delivered by it to the Board of Directors and which was described by Ponti as “inaccurate and full of falsehoods”. In fact, Romero maintains that the document was the reason for his suspension of salary and employment, since “it happened three days after presenting said report.”

It also reminds partners of the possibility of claiming “compensation for losses” for paid and unattended work by the supplier company, as well as a “clearance of responsibilities” by all those who “have collaborated or participated in non-compliance with the procedures ”.

He ends his statement assuming that his profession is “high risk and more in certain institutions.” It must be remembered that the position of officer compliance officer ’is responsible for the good practice of club employees and for controlling any mismatch in this regard.
