The City pardon questions the future of Raúl Jiménez

The pardon to Manchester City will have consequences for third parties due to the position of the Champions League that he does not leave free and that may affect the future of some clubs.

One of them is the Wolverhampton Wanderers, who was confident of a ratification of the two-year sanction without competing in Europe for the 'Sky Blues' that would allow them to enter the Champions.

With City in the Champions League next year after the revocation of the sanction by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (TAS), the fifth place in the Premier will not give access to the maximum continental competition.

If Wolves fails to get into the Champions League reaching fourth place, which is now four points away with nine at stake, some stars may decide to leave Molineux Stadium, including Mexican Raúl Jiménez, looking to play the best competition. by clubs in the world.

The 29-year-old footballer is completing the best season of his life and has accumulated 16 goals in the Premier League, the longest record for a Mexican footballer in the history of English competition, beating his compatriot Javier 'Chicharito' Hernández.

Jiménez, who still has a contract with the Wolves until 2023, will receive offers this summer and whether or not he is in the Champions League can be a determining factor to change the air or continue with the Lobos.

The Champions League is a competition that Jiménez already knows, since he has played it in four seasons, always wearing the Benfica shirt.

In total, 22 games in the maximum continental competition in which he scored four goals and distributed three assists.

To know the future of Raúl Jiménez, the Premier League will first have to reveal the dates of the transfer market this summer. It is expected to do so on July 24 at a meeting in which the start dates of the next championship will also be decided.
