The chefs ‘Hermanos Torres’ will be ‘titans’ in the Titan Desert Morocco

BARCELONA, 6 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The chefs Javier and Sergio Torres, the twins most recognized as ‘Hermanos Torres’ and who have three Michelin stars in their Cocina Hermanos Torres restaurant, will leave the stove aside for a few days to get on their bikes and participate in the Skoda Titan Desert Morocco 2023, from May 2 to 6.

The Torres Brothers will participate in one of the toughest mountain bike events, in the eBike category in the KH-7 team and with Melcior Mauri as captain, as well as ex-cyclists Abraham Olano, Josep Betalú and Sylvain Chavanel and the chocolatier Lluc Crusellas as teammates.

“Our relationship with cycling goes back as long as we can remember. At home there have always been bicycles. Now it is part of our life. We go from home to the restaurant by bicycle,” commented Sergio Torres. “Between coming to work and returning home in the afternoon, we do about 45 or 50 kilometers. It is a way of taking advantage of the time to play sports,” added his brother Javier.

This fondness for cycling will lead them to live a unique sporting experience in the Skoda Titan Desert Morocco. “We are linked to cyclists who have always told us about the Titan, but it has been Melcior and KH-7 who have pushed us to do something that we already had in mind and that we have been excited about for years,” assured Javier.

Both will be part of the largest team in the desert. A team in which professionals and amateur cyclists coexist to each fulfill their own objective. Some win the race, others can be among the hundred best and others enjoy the adventure and live a ‘titan’ experience in the Moroccan desert.

They will participate in the ‘eBike Titan’ category, which is part of the official program of the race. There will be three stages –May 3, 4 and 5–, the first being 78 kilometers through the Erg Chebbi dunes.

In the second stage they will cover 72 kilometers in a loop, with the great desert stage that begins and ends in Merzouga and that visits the western edge of the Erg and passes through the Tasarmine Oasis.

On the last day they will have to overcome meters of unevenness and stony tracks, a slower route than the previous ones, to reach the great finish line of Maadid.
